Contributing experts

As a high-ranking body, it advises and supports the implementation of the German government’s “Intelligent Networking” strategy in particular. As the successor to the former WG2 of the IT Summit, it supports developments at the interface between politics and business.

With around 200 experts from more than 150 companies, associations, scientific institutions and political institutions, the Working Group promotes digital networking in Germany in ten thematic subgroups. For years, it has been making important contributions, particularly to the digitalization of the infrastructure sectors of energy, healthcare, transport, education and administration.

The members of the Working Group first submitted recommendations for a national “Smart Grids Strategy” to the German government in 2012. In a number of other documents, the benefits and areas of application as well as challenges were analyzed and targets and recommendations for the implementation of smart grids by 2020 were developed and published.

As the result of a cross-industry stakeholder peer review, the DIV Report 2015 was presented at the IT Summit 2015 as a comprehensive report assessing the status and progress of intelligent networking in Germany, providing a clear picture of the situation and containing specific recommendations for action. In the two subsequent years, the Working Group published two joint focus reports on the summit topics of the respective year: the DIV Report Special Digital Education 2016 and the DIV Report Special Digital Health 2017.
