Under the umbrella brand “Deutschland intelligent vernetzt” (DIV), the supporting association of Charter of Digital Networking, together with the Intelligent Networking Working Group, its expert groups and partners, organizes and hosts interactive conference formats on the status and outlook in the basic sectors of energy, health, transport, education and administration as well as other topics related to intelligent networking.
Germany is facing major challenges that can only be overcome through the digital and sustainable transformation of companies and society and the closely related intelligent networking of all areas of life, work and infrastructure. The exciting challenge here is how we can take concrete action and what options we can identify for this.

The digital transformation of our society and the advancing digital networking of all areas of life, work and infrastructure demand more than ever an active engagement with the contexts and current issues of these processes. In this context, the data economy is increasingly becoming the focus of attention. It will play a key role in shaping future developments. Following the current experiences of the pandemic, the effects of the war in Ukraine and the increasingly tangible consequences of climate change, the need for practical action to increase resilience and sustainability is coming to the fore.
The virtual #DIV21 conference from November 8-11, 2021 was dedicated to current issues of sustainability through the digital transformation of public services. We brought together relevant stakeholders to discuss current issues, challenges and good examples of digitally supported services of general interest and sustainability through intelligent networking. Our aim was to learn from each other in an active discussion of opinions and ideas and to identify new concrete implementation ideas and projects.
The joint DIV 2020 and nachhaltig.digital annual conference will take place this year as an online event from November 9-12, 2020 under the motto “Implementing intelligently networked cities and regions – achieving sustainability!”. Together with experts and interested parties, we would like to discuss current issues, challenges and good examples of greater sustainability through digitalization in intelligently networked cities and regions based on selected goals for sustainable development from the United Nations 2030 Agenda. The Intelligent Networking Working Group, nachhaltig.digital, MÜNCHNER KREIS, Charter of Digital Networking and the Stadt.Land.Digital initiative cordially invite you to be part of the various interactive workshop sessions.
Can a German or European path be taken that fulfills the target triangle of data sovereignty, data security and interoperability as the basis of a municipal digital economy? How can smart city data platforms be realized on the basis of European security and value standards? How can the opportunities of this ecosystem, which is not yet distributed to international operators, be exploited? These and other questions will be discussed by managers and experts in two thematic blocks.
At this year’s Digital Summit, a stimulating exchange took place between the participating panelists and guests as part of the event “Intelligent networking and responsibility in the digital society”.
Digitalization has long since taken hold of our everyday working lives. But what consequences can be identified from this changing world of work for technology, qualifications and our social coexistence, especially in our cities and regions? Join us on September 25, 2018, when the Intelligent Networking Working Group of the National Digital Summit, the German Informatics Society, the MÜNCHNER KREIS and Charter of Digital Networking discuss “Living and working in a digital society – digitally networked cities and regions between technology, skills and social responsibility”. Where do we stand when it comes to digitalization in cities and regions? What experiences have the various players had? And what contribution can the federal, state and local governments make to ensure that the potential of digitalization and thus intelligent networking is widely used? These were the central questions of the DIV session “Intelligently networked cities & regions – bringing digitalization to the area” on 12 June at the Digital Summit.
In order to unlock the added value of intelligently networked infrastructures for citizens and companies, successful pilot projects in all areas must be further developed into marketable digital ecosystems.
Requirements and steps for successful digitalization were discussed in cooperation with the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Technology and Research, the Intelligent Networking Initiative and the experts and members of the “Intelligent Networking” Working Group, decision-makers from the federal, state and local governments and selected other experts.
