Launch of the real laboratories strategy

Real-world laboratories are regulatory experimental spaces in which innovative technologies and business models are tested and experience is gathered for smart regulatory approaches. In order to promote such experiments across all topics, the BMWi launched the real-world lab strategy on December 14. The strategy aims to make regulation in Germany more future-oriented and adaptable. The real-world laboratory strategy focuses on three key areas: strengthening experimentation clauses as the basis for more frequent and legally secure use of real-world laboratories, establishing a network structure and information offering to meet the high demand for information in business and administration and initiating concrete pilot projects as well as taking up further competitions, ideas and impetus from business.

Interested parties with suitable project ideas can now apply to the BMWi. Competitions will also be announced in the future.
